Designed to "cut" sand into "slugs" in dense phase sand systems to assist in moving sand through pipes and prevent sand plugs from occurring. Valves are installed periodically along the pipe from the transporter (primary) tank to the service platform (secondary) tank and then installed periodically along the pipe from the service platform (secondary) tank to the sanding hose. Also, they provide a "boost" to help move the sand along inside the pipe.
