Sharpe butterfly valves
Two 6" butterfly valves separate the top of the transporter sand tank and the bottom of the sand silo. Due to the abrasive nature of sand, these valves take a beating from sand flowing through them. Once the seat is worn away and cannot hold air pressure, the valve must be replaced. Proper air pressure is crucial to the efficient flow of sand being pumped to the secondary tanks on the service platform. This is standard equipment in all CWI Railroad System Specialists' Sand Systems.
